Derbyshire Dales

Don't Label Me. Don't Label yourself.

Will, Mae and Lara are members of their school council.Their campaign is about challenging the stereotypes of young people held by the Wirksworth community in Derbyshire.

Project started: May 2006

They want to get people in the community to understand the impact of the negative stereotype given to young people in the area has on their behaviour. They also want to improve the media coverage received for positive actions taken by young people in the community.

They are going to have a stand at local festivals where they will be able to promote their campaign and they are currently working on an anti-litter campaign in their school.
