Make Me Safe

Cassie, Emma and their youth worker Pam are working together to improve lighting and general safety in their neighbourhood.

Project started: May 2006

After joining Youth Act in May 2006 the group attended a Youth Act residential in mid-May.

They are currently making plans to recruit young people to join the campaign and to speak to crime and community partnership organisations about their campaign.By October 2006 the group had created a series of plays and workshops about community safety for local community groups.

In November the group invited 15 elderly members of a local Age Concern group to attend a performance and a discussion group aimed at listening to and getting their perspectives on safety in the neighbourhood. They are currently running a survey into the perspectives and needs of young people in Fairfield.
