A-level petition rebooted: you can help us save citizenship studies

From 2018, there will be no A-level in citizenship studies. As recent figures show it to be more popular than some other subjects, Democratic Life has revived its petition to save this A-level.

A-level enrolment figures released yesterday show that citizenship studies was taken by 2,914 students at either A or AS level in 2014. By comparison, A-level archaeology had 1,238 entries.

Even so, there are still no plans to reverse the decision to discontinue the A-level in citizenship studies.

However, Ofqual will consider reinstating the A-level if an exam board wants to offer it.

So, with campaign group Democratic Life, we have revived the petition to keep A-level citizenship.
