Lawyers in Schools to launch in Scotland

Our highly-regarded public legal education programme that puts lawyers into schools is launching in Scotland, and you're invited to join us.

Lawyers in Schools - a school session

Lawyers in Schools is the legal profession's largest skills-based volunteering scheme in Western Europe. It places legal professionals in the school classroom to work with young people on their awareness and understanding of the law.

More than 40 law firms, in-house legal teams and chambers take part in Lawyers in Schools . They work with over 1,000 students across England.

In teams, the volunteers lead small groups in six, one hour-long, interactive sessions on various aspects of the law.

The resources are designed to foster debate and discussion, as well as to encourage critical thinking from the young people.

We are launching this to lawyers and teachers in the same week that our prestigious Bar National Mock Trial Competition holds its annual grand final in Edinburgh's High Court, where ITV's Judge Rinder will wind up the proceedings.

It will be a great week for public legal education in Scotland!
