Citizenship Foundation welcomes new Trustees

The Citizenship Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Trustees, who were welcomed by the Board at their meeting yesterday 20 November 2003.

The Honourable Mrs. Justice Heather Hallett DBE joins the Board after many years of voluntary support for the Citizenship Foundationís Bar National Mock Trial Competition. Mrs Justice Hallett was elected the first woman Chairman of the Bar in 1998 and a year later, after 27 years practising both general common law and criminal law at the Bar, was appointed High Court Judge. She has been Presiding Judge of the Western Circuit since 2001.

Peter Pattisson is Citizenship Co-ordinator at Deptford Green School, an inner city comprehensive in south London, which has earned a national reputation for innovative and effective Citizenship education. Particularly interested in children's rights and school democracy, Peter previously worked on Save the Children's education programme and spent four years in India working with children.

These new appointments replace outgoing Trustees Daphne Gould OBE and The Honourable Mr Justice Hooper, who had been with the Citizenship Foundation since its inception.
