'Apathy Alienation or What' Citizenship Foundation Colloquium 2000

There surely has never been a more apposite moment for this Colloquium on democracy? In a keynote speech, Professor Paul Whiteley will highlight evidence of the decline in civic participation and the role of 'social capital' in driving this.

Dr Phyllis Starkey MP and Mr David Willetts MP have picked up the gauntlet of responding to this challenging statement in a non-partisan manner. The evening will be chaired by Michael Brunson OBE and promises to be extremely lively, with spirited contributions anticipated from the audience of academics, lawyers, leaders of the public and voluntary sector, school students and members of the media. 6.30 - 8.15pm Monday 20 November 2000 Law Society Hall, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2 Refreshments generously provided by Luther Pendragon.
