You now have until 4 November to enter the Magistrates' Court Mock Trial Competition

Entry to the long-running schools competition has been extended to Friday 4 November. Don't miss out!

The Magistrates's Court Mock Trial Comptition is open to schools for students in years 8 and 9.

In the roles of lawyers, witnesses, magistrates and court staff, students prosecute and defend specially written criminal cases. Teams compete against each other in real Magistrates' courts in front of real magistrates.

Competition entry costs £95 for a single team or £145 for two teams. The deadline for entries is 4 November 2011.

Over 95% of criminal cases are dealt with by magistrates, yet many people know very little about what they do. This competition, which has been running annually since 1994, introduces the legal system to young people in an innovative and exciting way.
