Cumbrian pupils use their hearts of chocolate for charity

On Friday six schools from Cumbria met for the local final of Giving Nation Challenge. The Challenge gets young people to engage in an issue or cause that they care about.

Ullswater Community College won with its ‘Give Your Heart’ campaign. The students make chocolate hearts, which they sell to raise money for a local children’s hospice.

Cumbria County Council has run the Challenge for three years. It is a good advert for other local councils who want to encourage giving in their communities.
