Citizenship Challenge is accredited by AQA

We are pleased to announce that the Citizenship Challenge materials have now been accredited as part of AQA's Unit Award Scheme (UAS)

Citizenship Challenge is a free downloadable resource that is designed to support the teaching of citizenship education at key stages 3 and 4 in Pupil Referral Units, although it will also be useful in mainstream and other forms of education.

The UAS is a scheme for recording achievement that gives a student recognition for completing short units of work. They can cover nearly any subject or topic and be used with any age or ability. There are over 18,000 units which can be downloaded from the Unit Awards section of the AQA website.

There are eight Unit Awards for the Citizenship Challenge resources, which cover:

  • Being a Citizen
  • Society & the Media
  • Politics & Power
  • Family & Home Life
  • Crime & the Law
  • Neighbourhood & Environment
  • Shopping & Money
  • Identity & Discrimination.

You can download the units and summary sheets for recording pupil's progress towards completing them from the AQA website, or by downloading Citizenship Challenge.
