New Director, Education and Programmes for the Citizenship Foundation
On 22 November Mark Chater will join the Citizenship Foundation as Director, Education and Programmes.Since 2006 Mark has been a curriculum programme adviser at the QCDA where he had responsibility for citizenship and religious education, leading a team of 20 advisers, consultants and support staff. This post involved strategic engagement with the national curriculum - in government, local authorities and across primary and secondary schools as well as policy development at the highest level of curriculum implementation.
He has a 30 year career in education - from classroom teaching to senior lecturer then reader in education at a leading teacher training university. He is now keen to move his career into the citizenship arena.
