Bar National Mock Trial Competition now open
The competition is open to all non-fee paying secondary schools and further education colleges in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The competition is a unique opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience of the British legal system. Schools compete against each other in regional heats by taking the roles of prosecution and defence lawyers, witnesses, court staff and jurors in a real crown court.
The competition is now in its 20th successful year and has had high profile support from senior barristers, lawyers and judges. One participating teacher commented: 'The Bar National Mock Trial provides a type of experimental learning unrivalled by any other extra curricular activity I have been involved in.'
The deadline for entries is 10 June 2010.
