12,000 copies of new YCP Scotland distributed free

12,000 free copies of the new Young Citizenís Passport Scotland (2nd edition), written by the Citizenship Foundation and published by Hodder Gibson, have been distributed free of charge to secondary schools across Scotland courtesy of the Law Society of Scotland.

This pocket-sized guide to legal rights and responsibilities in Scotland for 11-19 year olds explains, as simply as possible, those parts of the law that have most relevance to the everyday life of young people in Scotland. Sections include student finance, consumer rights, families, accommodation, police, courts and health.

The first edition of the won the TESS/Saltire Society Educational Book of the Year Award when it was published in 2005.

As well as the free books scaled out to secondary schools, head teachers or local authorities have an opportunity to purchase further bulk copies of the £4.99 title at prices ranging between £2.50 each for 20 or more copies to £1.25 each for 1000 or more copies.
