Charity partnership to drive voluntary giving

The Citizenship Foundation has joined a partnership of leading charities and philanthropic bodies to assess, acknowledge and promote charitable giving in the UK.

The partnership, led by The Beacon Trust, intends to be an authoritative forum for developing strategies which encourage and support charitable giving. It will also work to identify best practice in the voluntary sector.

“In joining forces with our charity partners, we are looking to generate a greater awareness of the rapidly developing ‘giving culture’ in the UK today and to grow and encourage charitable giving”, said John Thurley, Beacon CEO.

“Beacon and its charitable partners firmly believe that by highlighting the achievements of the annual Beacon prize winners and showcasing innovation and best practice in philanthropy, others will be inspired and encouraged to make their own contribution.

“Through this partnership, we are drawing together experts and professionals from the world of charitable giving, looking to share their knowledge and understanding in generating effective and sustainable giving to the voluntary sector”.

Orther partners include Philanthropy UK, The Institute of Fundraising, Toynbee Hall, The Institute for Philanthropy, Community Foundation Network and The Charities Trust.
