Free law guide for secondary pupils

Almost 250,000 copies of Young Citizen's Passport: 10th edition will be distributed free of charge, thanks to funding from the Department for Constitutional Affairs.

Thirty copies of the award-winning guide to the law will be given to all state secondary schools, special schools, sixth forms and Pupil Referral Units in England and Wales.

The Citizenship Foundation will distribute a further 100,000 through a network of organisations working directly with hard-to-reach young people, such as youth services, secure training centres and NGOs.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to provide so many young people with accessible, no-nonsense legal information, giving them the power to make informed decisions about their lives.

The books will be distributed from mid-May 2005.
