Free Youth Parliament video for Scotland
This week All secondary schools in Scotland will receive a free video promoting this year's National Youth Parliament Competition. The video provides support to students interested in entering the competition, and can also be used in its own right as a teaching tool to support Education for Citizenship in schools.
The National Youth Parliament Competition helps bring to life the process of politics and devolved government, by offering young people the opportunity to set up and film their own parliamentary session.
Launched in October 2003, the ‘Holyrood model' offers schools the chance to recreate the Scottish Parliament instead of the House of Commons.
Resources accompanying the video have been developed with help from the Scottish Parliament's Education Service.
The National Youth Parliament Competition is organised by the Citizenship Foundation and sponsored by Norwich Union.
