'Life in the UK' handbook published

A new handbook for those new to the UK has been published by the Home Office, on behalf of the Life in the United Kingdom Advisory Group led by Professor Bernard Crick.

Life in the United Kingdom: a journey to citizenship was orignially inspired by the clear, accessible information found in the Citizenship Foundation's award-winning Young Citizen's Passport.

The 146 page handbook is designed to be used by ESOL teachers, mentors and adult and informal educators in their work with those new to the UK or seeking naturalisation.

Six of the eight chapters were written by the Citizenship Foundation, and speak directly to those for whom the information and guidance was intended.

The Handbook is available in hard copy from The Stationery Office (TSO): 0870 243 0123; www.tso.co.uk/bookshop.
