Take your pupils to court! The Magistrates' Court Mock Trial Competition is back

Would your students stand up in court? Over 4,000 young people and 800 magistrates will be involved in this challenging competition. You can be part of it too.

School pupils take on the roles of magistrates in the Magistrates Court Mock Trial Competition.
School pupils take on the roles of magistrates in the Magistrates' Court Mock Trial Competition.

Over 95 per cent of criminal cases (more than a million every year) are dealt with by magistrates, yet many people know very little about what they do.

This national competition puts school students in to the roles of lawyers, witnesses, magistrates and court staff.

They prosecute and defend specially written criminal cases, pitting their wits against other schools.

And all in front of real magistrates.

The Magistrates' Court Mock Trial Competition introduces the legal system to young people in an innovative and exciting way, and has done so every year since 1994.

Register now! The deadline for entries is 19 October 2012
